Been a while...

So yes, it has been a while since I have blogged...last check, there were talks of getting rid of some of our "stuff" at the swap meet...long story short, we did not sell...we bought! haha..We ended up with some amazing deep water fishing poles, perfect for tuna and other. Some nice winches and Stew scored his first surf board!(Made in Australia). He was so excited that later that day he put on his wet suit and Katie and Neil pulled him around the marina. Within 20 minutes or so he was able to stand up on it and is VERY excited to head to tropical waters! Yes, he is so cool! I have a photo (below) for now and Katie is working on his video debut to follow in a few days. As far as our progress goes, I must say, I am very thankful that we have delayed our departure from early spring till this June. We have been able to fine tune our electronics and just picked up an AIS, new radio and DSC antenna. This will allow us to "call" our fellow boaters, wherever they may be, on the planet. It is crystal clear and pretty freakin sweet! The AIS also allows us to "see" allot more on the water. It will tell who is there (aside from the radar "blip")how big, their coarse, their speed...etc..It will also give us their number so if need be we can get in touch with them. It is for safety and convenience. I am really glad we went ahead and bit the bullet and picked it up. Sewing projects are moving along and Neil has been fiber glassing our "problem areas" when the weather permits. We have a weather forecast that looks promising through the weekend. I have hopes of getting the dodger near completion.(fingers crossed!). We have some new hardware to install so that we can do everything from the behind the dodger. This sounds easy enough but will take some thought to move everything around. We decided to take the old roofing off and replace it with mahogany door skin. We will paint it white. This will allow us to add more LED lights. (the old roof was vinyl and you couldn't mount to it). The new wooden roof will also allow us to "hide" some of our wiring and make for a cleaner look. We have been fortunate enough to move our boat down by Joyce and Barry. (Jubilee II). I know I have said it before, but they really are a great couple with hopes to join the great race and sail either to Alaska (very cool!) or down to Mexico via the "Baha Haha" run this fall. They have taken us out sailing a few times in the last few weeks. Neil and I have been truly thankful that we have been able to get out there and keep our feet wet in the middle of all our constructive chaos. That about wraps up the "blogging gap" for now. We are almost there. We are staying focused whilst having fun..after all, isn't that what life is all about? F - U -........N! (what were you thinking? haha).
