Scorpio

A wonderful weekend was had by all! I got a ton of sewing done, still more to go, as always, but progress none the less. The kid's went inland for 24 hours of fun with their friends Ian and Kira. They got to swim, and burn, in the hot weather that we were blessd with. Neil and I had a bit of a "date night" on Saturday which was nice!

Sunday we were asked to join Bob aboard his vessel "Scorpio", an old wooden classic. This boat took first place in her division last year..(way to go Bob!). The opportunity to go on a sail around the bay in a work of art is one that no one could pass up. So off we went. We have been sailing on his boat before and it is always fun. This boat requires a crew on deck. There was alot to be done in order to change coarse or drop and hoist sails. This makes one very thankful for the simplicity of all lines leading aft on newer boats; no comparison to the class of an old woody. The vessel is so smooth it feels as though you are riding on butter! We had her healed over to where the rails were underwater and she was scooping the bay water over the edge. This was of course in the slot of the gate. You can always find good wind there, even if there is not a hint of it elsewhere in the bay. We sailed the general "Day Sail" route and went across over to Alcatraz, and home via Racoon Straight. The wind let up and the sun was full, so Daisy and I took full advantage of the opportunity to lay on the foredeck. I almost fell asleep and caught myself as a ferry wave knocked us around and woke me up! So nice.

All in all a beaufifully relaxing weekend. This week looks to be 70-ish all week. I am very excited about that.

That sounds so wonderful, Tiffin. We had snow, rain and 65 mph wind gusts yesterday. It sure played heck with the electrical system in Butte. I can't imagine why since much of it is over 100 years old. (HEAVY SARCASM) Bob worked until about 4:30 AM last night. Several of the other linemen from Butte are already working in the Great Falls area due to a storm last week that knocked over 50 poles down. We only had one crew left in Butte and half a dozen problems last night. Bob sent me texts as they went from job to job restoring power. Anyway, what I am trying to say is, I am glad you folks had some nice weather. I will sure be glad when we get some.

Love you lots!!
